Home Tour | Reagan Struble

Nestled in the serene Austin countryside in the US, a charming 19th-century home graces a scenic three-acre expanse. The Victorian property provides a tranquil retreat for designer Reagan Struble, founder of RG House and indie singer Sloan Struble.

Who lives here & what they do…

I live with my husband, Sloan and our chocolate lab puppy, Benny. Sloan is a musician, and I am an interior designer.

Home is…

Our hideaway! We travel quite often for work, and we wanted this home to be a very soft place to land.

My home story...

We came across this house when we were 20 years old and soon-to-be-married — it really captured us. I think it was providential because I fell in love with the design process and decided to dedicate myself to becoming an interior designer.

What inspired the design of your home?

I wanted it to be very “Texas chic” … in a fun and new way. Since this was my own home, the process was quite intuitive and the pieces fell together over time.
My husband Sloan has amazing taste and his opinion influenced many of the choices as well.

What are some of the biggest lessons you learned while creating your home?

Practicality is key. Make decisions that will benefit your family life and flow positively.

What do you love about your home?

I love the charm of the old beadboard walls… I love how quiet it is… and I love that it will always hold memories of our first years together as a little family.

What do you enjoy about living in your area?

The Hill Country is such a beautiful place to live — we enjoy all of the wildlife and critters and the amazing sunsets from our cute front porch.

What does simple living mean to you?

Simple living is on the forefront of my mind when I am designing spaces for clients. I think everyone needs room to breathe in their own home. Simple living is clutter free — less is more, low maintenance, so we can spend our time with the people we love instead of tending to material goods.

If you were to have a spare free morning, how would you spend it?

I would probably sleep in a little late, make breakfast and coffee with Sloan, and call my mom all morning.

What are three words that best describe you?

Passionate, bright, easy-going.

What book can you recommend?
